Blinding splash issue
So true, my kids love when I drive through a deep puddle and the tidal wave of water comes up and over the entire windshield. I get the "do it again" request and have to aim for the next deep puddle. -

Blinding splash issue
The reason is simple...the front tires are located just behind the front bumper. Good for off road approach angle, bad for splashing water forward then you drive into it. Best fix is to buy a vehicle with the front wheels set farther back with more hood and front fender in front of the wheels... -

Anyone moved from an LR4 to a Velar?
Not sure, I just know it was the 6-cylinder P380 with adjustable suspension. You could select 4 different driving modes on the touch screen. I think it was a regular S model but it had the Dynamic handling package option. -

About 5 years ago JD Power and Consumer Reports ranked Audi near the top. Suddenly my in-laws' Florida retirement community parking lot was filled with white and silver Q5's. Next visit it should be back to all white and silver RX350's. -

tires for LR4
Wildpeak AT Trail are far less aggressive than the Wildpeak AT3. Love my Nokian winter tires as they do a great job of turning and stopping the heavy LR4. -

I'm thinking V6, HSE trim level that includes the sunroof and nicer leather seats. I noticed that heated rear seats are not standard. You need to select them in the "interior" build section. And I can't live without a heated steering wheel after having one for years. I'll need that...- PaulLR3

My Defender HSE build is $76K, so my guess for a 130 V8 is $96K. The difference between a RRS HST with a V6 MHEV and a RRS with the SCV8 is $5K. Add $15K for the 110 to 130 jump. -

The shop foreman at my dealer said they are well aware of the possible crossover pipe failures but have only seen one happen so far. He commented that it is probably more prone to failure in climates where it is warm year-round. -

Timing Chains / Crossover pipe resolved?
Timing chain issue was corrected starting with the 2013 LR4's. (Different timing chain guides) Crossover pipe was also recently redesigned. No longer a 2-piece construction that splits down the middle. I would think that the D5 would have the newer version. Then again, it takes about 6 years...- PaulLR3
