LR4 19” wheels with Nokian winter tires – Boston area pick-up

I was saving these for my new Defender when it arrives in February. However, I just learned that LR4 wheels do not fit the Defender. Wheels are OEM 10-spokes. No damage, just some embedded winter dirt. Tires are Nokian Hakka R3 SUV (255/55/19). Used 2 winters. On the wear indicator, the 8...

    FS: 2013 LR4 HSE Lux, 225K miles, $10k - SoCal

You are correct...here is the Defender forum... https://landroverforums.com/forum/2020-defender-60/ Umberto already posted some very helpful information including how to hardwire a radar detector into a Defender.

I didn't have to. Once installed it worked perfectly with a boat trailer.

    2011 LR4 Pricing

Totally agree! We ordered my wife's red 2013 LR4 new and I liked it so much that I wanted one too. However, 2013 LR4 production was over and I didn't like the 2014 as much. So I found a used 2013 HSE-LUX with 12K miles in Chicago and had it shipped the 1000 miles to Boston. Arrived in 2 days.

That tailgate photo explains why my rearview camera stopped working and had to be replaced. Technician said it was ruined by leaking water.

AT Trail will be better in winter than the AT3. Tires with bigger lugs like the AT3 tend to clog with snow. And the AT Trail has far more sipes than the AT3 for better traction & braking on ice.

Or slush. MLK weekend last January, the Stowe access road was clogged with big 4WD SUVs spinning all 4 of their near-bald all season tires on really slippery slush. Sliding sideways and going nowhere on the inclines. (Including my neighbor in his QX80 with 22" worn tires) Caused about a 2...

New Bronco will have manual option

I agree, "save the manuals". I have owned about 20 vehicles with a manual, mostly Accords and A4's when I was a sales rep and drove about 40K miles per year. Just more fun to drive. However, driving a manual transmission in difficult off road conditions (rock crawling) is a whole new...

If Dorset, VT is your new home, go with the studded Hakka 9's. If traveling to VT from a less snowy area go with Hakka R3. I'm running the Falken Wildpeak AT Trail as a summer tire but still use Hakka R3's in winter. Falkens would be sufficient in the Boston area winter but for VT you want...

One more thought...LR used 2 different TPMS sensors in LR4's. You probably have the newer 433mhz version in your 2016. Call the parts department at your local LR dealer and they can look up the correct part number using your VIN. Then either order them from here...

brian, buy those 19" wheels from Jimmy Brooks for $1000. ($250 each is a good deal as they are about $700 each new) Unlike Audi, there are only a few aftermarket wheels that work with an LR4. LR wheels are engineered to support the weight of an LR4 plus they have some sort of really strong...

    LR4 19" tires for sale

We had a 2007 4.2 Q7 before the 2013 LR4. I think Audizine and Audiworld are the most active Audi forums. Poor quattroworld is near death. I came very close to ordering an SQ7 just before the pandemic hit. Now that I've had time to reconsider I'll probably go with a new Defender instead.

    LR4 19" tires for sale

Audi Q7's with 19" wheels also have this 255/55/19 size tire. Maybe post these in the Audiworld classifieds as well. I'm sure there are Q7 owners that are sick of the POS run flats. But then again the complete lack of a spare tire in the Q7 is another problem to deal with. If we could order...

Maxing Out Off-Road Ability on 19" Wheels (yep, tires again)

I'm running the Falken Wildpeak AT Trail on my LR4 and love them after 10K miles. They replaced a set of Cooper Zeons that got louder and louder as they wore. They are quiet on the road and work great in sand. From my experience, a more aggressive tread tire tends to dig in sand rather than...

    2010-2013 LR4 with "Facelift" grille - photos?

Whenever I pass an oncoming LR4 with the newer grill and headlights, all I think is too bad you have the SCV6 and not the V8 behind that grill. ;)

Rattle noise at passenger rear - outside the car

I recently had the same loaner vehicle and totally agree. Who would pay $52K for a Discovery Sport? Last year we shopped for a new vehicle to add to the the family motor pool for our teen drivers. Honda Passport is far better than a Discovery Sport in so many areas and is $12K less.

Can you identify this sound? (Video)

My guess is the clock spring is damaged or broken. Not a common LR4 issue. (But very common on some Audi models I had owned before)

    2015 LR4 - Battery died, now doors won't lock

I'm on my 3rd battery at 123K miles. When the clock starts changing to military time or the date changes the to European day-month-year format overnight I know it's time for a new battery. BMullensNH, if you hold down the middle dome light button until the interior lights flash, you turn off...

    2020 Defender Drive Impressions.

I think the correct term is coolant manifold, but basically they are plastic pipes that go across the top rear of the engine. They carry coolant to the heater core. The engine heat causes these pipes to become brittle, crack or completely implode. If it implodes, you have to immediately shut...

    2020 Defender Drive Impressions.

I have to agree, that LR3 4.4 may be the most reliable and low maintenance engine ever. They seem to run forever. (Audi 2.8 from the late 90's is a close 2nd) But I do prefer the power of the LR4 5.0 V8 despite the frail crossover pipes, leaking valve covers and appetite for water pumps.

Engine oil analysis results on 2010 LR4 V8

I always thought that the LR4's sport mode was way too aggressive for normal driving. (Unlike the more subtle Dynamic mode in a Velar) However, put the LR4 in sport mode, rapidly depress the gas pedal to the floor and watch the tach as each gear change snaps off at the red line. Perfect for...

If you have a new battery, then maybe the alternator is failing. Is the passenger side valve cover leaking oil and dripping into the alternator?
