OIl Leak - top of engine
Not sure since my CPO warranty covered the valve cover gasket replacement. I bet it's a $1000 event at a dealer. Since the alternator was still functioning I paid for that and it was $950. -

Did you check that weight that hangs between the exhaust pipe and frame? It can swing forward and make a noise. Mine are so rusted I'm surprised they haven't fallen off. -

LR4 windshield replacement
FWIW, with the OEM windshield, I always thought the rain sensing wipers swiped too frequently, even when set to "Min". Somehow the Pilkington replacement windshield corrected this so now there is a greater time interval between the "Min" & "Max" rain sensing settings. Apparently your results... -

That may be a good thing since the plant is new and mostly robotic. D5 built there seems to be very solid with very few problems. Q7 and Cayenne are also built in Slovakia. Cayenne is always at the top of those JD Power quality reports. -

I think I read that Land Rover also plans to replace the current Ford-base engines with BMW engines. I always had good luck with Audi engines, too bad they don't sell their engines to other brands. -

My wife actually selected the red when we ordered her LR4. There are about 50 LR4's in our small town but just 2 red ones. You can order a RRS in so many colors but the additional cost is around $5000. -

We have 8' tall garage doors but still need to put the LR4 in access height to clear the top. Sometimes I forget and there is a white stripe down the top center of the Thule box where it rubs on the door weather striping. -

Totally agree. You should see what my winter wheels look like after 6 winters of road salt, brake dust and infrequent washings. The grime is embedded into the finish with no hope of cleaning them up. -

Exactly what I was thinking. I'd think twice before moving away from OEM pads & rotors. I remember Car & Driver noting during their road test of an LR4 how exceptional the braking was (both stopping distance and pedal feel) for such a heavy vehicle. And I have never had a problem with warped... -
