    Extended Warranty

Seems like a decent if not really good deal all around. Getting anything at all towards the brakes is a bonus on these rotor-munching beasts.

2013 LR4 Low Beam Intermittent Bulb Outage

Agreed. I even did it in the frozen parking lot of a NJ Walmart one time when I lost a bulb during a road trip. I only used tools the time I did the Dremel trimming mod on an H9 bulb.

how much is labor in an lr dealership

Oh you mean like a psycho...ahem...significant other? The fun kind, at least as long as you can hang in there. Good analogy.

2013 LR4 Low Beam Intermittent Bulb Outage

Every time I put new bulbs in I replace both of them including the one that still works. I keep the working ones as spares in case I ever get caught someplace where I can only replace one. That said, I always wind up staring and confirming which lamp is being replaced for this exact reason. And...

    2013 LR4 - Battery dead - Weird things - 3 options?

I admire your integrity and would go this route for that reason and because it never hurts to upgrade an LR4 battery. Also I have replaced batteries prior to getting the IIDTool and did not recalibrate the ECU. Never detected any type of negative fallout because of that.

2013 LR4 Low Beam Intermittent Bulb Outage

I have used H11 and also H9 replacement bulbs. The H9’s need a tiny bit of Dremel trimming (see youtube) in order to fit the connector but supposedly give better light and spread. But that doesn’t explain why your H11 was flaking out.

What type of bulb did you replace it with? You didn't go with an LED, did you?

    Oil Overfill Indication - 2013 LR4 5.0L

Of course to be 100% good to go (and since you seemed concerned about this), just bite the bullet and replace the oil. You mentioned that your friend where you did the overfill lives a couple of hours away and that you've burned about a full tank of gas so far. That strikes me as a fair amount...

Reflashing IPC ECU with GAP IIDTool ?

I'll have to go back in and check. I remember it being extremely easy/intuitive to do and was one of the first changes I made before I even RTFM. Not giving you grief, just saying that it's probably easier than you think.

What did you do with your Lr4 Today?

Driving the LR4 in snow never gets old for me. We didn’t have nearly as much as you described here in the DC area, but it was fun to get out and get some photos while it lasted. I stayed on side roads and a wooded park area near my home. Great time.

    Electronic Parking Brake (EPB) failure

It will definitely release in reverse as well as forward. I don’t like the minor jolt sensation even though it’s probably 100% normal. I had drive away feature on a Jag XJ8 and it was buttery smooth.

    Electronic Parking Brake (EPB) failure

Well done! But now you have me curious as to what is the "normal" sound of the LR4's EPB being applied. The best description I've heard for the sound is that it's like your Rover is auguring itself into the ground. I always enjoy that visual when I apply the brake when I'm away from the house...

What did you do with your Lr4 Today?

Adding to the Repair category in this thread, I replaced my lift gate actuator yesterday. Paying homage to the Land Rover Gods that I was able to open the gate one last time to do the fix. I didn’t have to struggle with panel removal from the inside of the cargo area. The rubbery button above...

Anyone Recently Sold or Currently Selling?

I may have missed some of the nuances of the original question, but my hot take is that the lack of LR4 listings (private sales or otherwise) is a good thing. The model is having a bit of a moment and any nice units offered will stand out. Maybe it also means that lots of them are getting sold...

    LR4 windshield replacement

Great info, thanks. When I get mine replaced (notice I didn’t say if because it’s inevitable) I will insist on and pay for LR logo OEM or Pilkington heated replacement. I will also put the installers on notice about all the above and tell them they need to get it right the first time. It’s...

    LR4 music skip

That's what he was using, his steering wheel buttons. I experience the same thing with my iPhone 12 connected via BT and playing Spotify. Sometimes when I try to advance a track via the wheel it skips to the 2nd song on the list. But it usually works as expected when I hit the button on the...

What did you do with your Lr4 Today?

Thanks I'm looking for all the tips I can find. I also saw one video recommending NOT to install the black plastic cover that comes with the so-called improved actuator. That cover could make access very difficult if it fails in the future and requires another emergency release from the cargo...

What did you do with your Lr4 Today?

I guess it’s not surprising that in a thread titled “What did you do with your LR4 today?”, 50% of the replies would be repair-related, LOL. [Speaking of which, I just received the AtlanticBritish kit to replace the failing actuator, latch, and vapor barrier for my liftgate. I’m praying for one...

What did you do with your Lr4 Today?

The Land Rover Derangement Syndrome is real when we get so twisted up that an honest indy sends us into spirals of paranoid cynical mistrust simply by telling us not to throw parts at our cars, lol. We’ve all been there.

What did you do with your Lr4 Today?

Thanks. We boat on the Chesapeake Bay but it's so vast we might as well be on the ocean. The Rover is right at home in this setting, as it is everywhere it takes me.

What did you do with your Lr4 Today?

I went out to the marina for a final check on the boat before shrinkwrapping. The LR4 is the perfect workhorse for lugging boating gear and passengers. And it always brings the smiles when we get back to the dock for the drive home.

    Heated windshield not working

I never appreciated it until this past week. I was visiting family in WV and had to park outside. Normally I'm in a garage every night. I got up one morning to a full view of frost. I thought it would take awhile to work and would show visible melt lines, but in fact the stuff just seemed to...

    Rotating full-size spare tire

I had a similar question when I cut a sidewall and had to introduce a new tire into my mix. Some people freaked out about any miniscule difference in tread depth, but my trusted indy took a look and said no problem. I had a few more miles on my tires than what you described. This is all purely...
