Ticking and oil up the dipstick...
I know nothing about your specific vehicle/ engine but I seem to recall from my long-ago love affair with engines that there’s a crankcase breather and if it gets plugged the only other vent is thru the dipstick hole. Wild card but might be worth checking. Good luck Frank -

Cold weather transmission failure

Finally got a real snowstorm here in Vermont yesterday. I took my LR 4 out on unplowed back roads and had great fun the tow trucks were out in force pulling flatlanders out of snowbanks but with winter tires my LR was really in its element. It’s been nagging me all morning to take it out again... -

Battery Life
So your folding mirrors didn’t go out? I just had this happen yesterday for first time. I stopped engine, opened and shut door and the went out normally on restart. Is the mirror failure a warning sign of something? -

hello 2016LR4, 13k miles. Did a Vermont/NYC round-trip, 265 miles each way. The average fuel consumption computer came in at 20 mpg. Dividing miles by fuel consumed gives me 16+ MPG The Lo fuel warning came on when it showed 65 miles to empty, and when I filled it it only took 17.5 gallons... -

As far as NYC and area traffic goes, my 2016 LR4 does just fine. I drive it a lot in the NY metro area and have no problem passing. I particularly like the height. I think that’s a big advantage. If you shop Manhattan LR, look for a salesman whose first name is “Roman” ( I forgot his last name...
