Saw your post on the TDV6 you want to purchase. Looks to be well maintained and good mileage. I say pull the trigger but just have some rainy day funds set aside. Interesting that they come with 6 speed transmission in Europe. If it doesn't have air suspension even better.
She loves it and I only driven it once since we got it lol. I already mentioned an APR tune and she's all in for it . Oh yeah agreed that the LR3 and the Q5 are in different categories. It's built like a tank for sure and capable of even going on sand like PaulLR3 mentioned that not even...
Thanks!! We already own an Audi S4 B7 Avant 6speed manual and it's blast to drive. Not the most reliable car either. Had to do the timing chain service at 89k miles and cost 6k. Thankfully extended warranty covered it.
Our LR3 was also starting to have the alternator whine. That could be why...
It's sad to see my 2005 LR3 go but the repair list and cost was just stacking up. Plus the LR3 was my fiance's daily driver and was becoming unreliable and was potentially going to leave her stranded. We decided that it was time for a new car so we traded in the LR3 for 2015 Audi Q5 2.0T
We are...
I actually go the suede Dashmat model but it just didn't look right and the fitment wasn't that great. If anyone would like to purchase it let me know. It's back in the box still brand new. I'll take a reason offers for it. Regular price is 40 dollars I believe.
All,
I was writing and extensive overview of ownership but got kicked out of the forum for some reason. So I'll make this quick and hopefully it will help folks. As of last week I officially own my LR3 with 79k miles on the OD. One less car payment is always good. But a couple of these payments...
It was actually powder coated or baked with a crinkled texture feel on it. Going back to the 18inch wheels later this year and will be doing the same with them.
I'm running 255/60/19R Michelin Latitude with 05 LR. I'm the kinda guy that likes less gap. Been running these tires for 2 years now and they've been great. They ride nice and smooth both on local driving and long trips.
I still have my 18s stored away and plan on powder coating them flat...
From my exprience:
On your test drive, take it to a bumpy road and hear for any noises. Knocking noise could be due to worn bushings in the front suspension control arms or front/rear swaybars. It's a known issue with our cars. I had my front suspension control arms bushings and front swaybar...
**Update**
The rear differential lock motor has been replaced which doing further reseach is a known issue with our vehicles and them crapping out at even low miliage (myself having 70k miles) Total cost to repair with replacement part was under 900 dollars by my indy Landrover shop. I...
All,
Sorry for not providing an update. It's official, the brake light switch replacement did not work for me. After replacement on 11/18, for two weeks the HDC error didn't come on but I didn't want to celebrate just yet. The following week my fiance told me the error message came back on...
**UPDATE**
Installed the brake light switch this past Saturday and since then no error messages. I'll give it another week or so to confirm that it officially fixed the issue.
Thank you all for the suggestions!!
I have considered everyone's suggestion and brought the brake light switch this morning for $23 total with shipping. I will provide an update once the new part is installed. I'll be crossing my fingers. Thanks everyone!!
Thanks Paul, the LR3 is driven by my fiancé now and she loves it for all the same reasons you mentioned. We consolidated her old car and my old car and got a VW R32 but traded the R for an Audi B7 S4 Avant so it's right up the Allroad's alley. It's my dream car .
All,
Reading about the different HDC faults people have gotten including myself and the different suggestions other members have provided as a resolution and some cases still unresolved. I wanted to open my own thread with the latest update I had with my problem.
My HDC faults started...
The only issues I had with the OEM hitch is that it's to far in for my Yakima Stick Up tray style bike rack. When the trays fold up, the front tray will hit the bumper so it needs to be removed in order to fold up. Second issue also related to how far the hitch is underneath the car is MTBs with...
