Problem Solved . . . I bought the panel popper tool and removed the tailgate interior panel (still destroyed several of those damned plastic fasteners). Unbol;ted the carrier, flipped it over and discovered that the center bolt holes no longer lined up. Re-drilled these holes and bolted it... -

Turn Signal Gremlin on '00 D2
I found it ! ! ! The problem was in the right front turnsignal socket. The wiring harness plug socket had apparently self-destructed some time ago, and one of the leads backed out of what was left of the molded plug. It was intermittent for a while, and then just quit completely. Of course... -

Turn Signal Gremlin on '00 D2
The turnsignals and 4-way flashers on my '00 D2 are acting up! Sometimes they work . . . most times they don't! All bulbs are good; all fuses are good What happens is this, I turn the signal on and the dash indicator light flashes once (maybe) then nothing!!! Either side or 4-ways... -

I've swapped out the stock 255x65x16 tires for five (5) 245x75x16's I changed engine oil and filter I intend to change all drivetrain fluids I'm about to replace the front brake pads and rotors for inspection I also just received my orders for spark plugs and plug wires, air filter, auto...- Cal

Well, it won't fit. It won't go on with the tailgate closed, and the tailgate won't close with the tire hung on the carrier. What's up with that!?!? -

I remember running across a thread that discussed the things to do to mount an oversize spare tire on the factory D2 carrier . . . but now I can't locate it! I vaguely remember something about inverting the stock carrier . . . or something like that. Does anyone know where I can find this... -
