Mine just went south also - interesting that you could fix it with the tool - I had to climb back there and break in, replaced the switch, and motor. -

I have been to the dealer (different ones) and have asked them to turn on the DRL's for me - they say they cannot do it, or are afraid to do it. Some say they need to download a file, then they get the file and it is too complicated...not sure what that is all about. I know these trucks were... -

I spent 2 months looking for an HD - I used TOPIX for the VINS pretty simple. Most had or have about 100k so they need CA bushings, chains checked, air suspension checkup etc. Odd thing I found with the HD package is they were usually "every option" checked, HSA, rear seat DVD etc...You can... -

Really find it hard to believe this is not coming from right in the cabin, right behind the wheel...one thing to consider is that if it got quieter, maybe it is still the clock spring. Obviously there is a bad batch of something out there... -

So I had mine in for this same thing and they indicated they "lubricated" the clock spring - made no discernible difference to me - going to to take it back. Again not sure if this is internal to the clock spring mechanism or simply that the part touching the mechanism as the wheel turns needs... -

So I have this exact noise - did anyone get a final fix for this?? It sounds more like it is inside the truck, right at the steering wheel where it mounts - something is rubbing. -

So I read the whole steering gear pinion seal thread - this really seems like right behind the steering wheel, inside the cabin not out under the truck with the rack. It does seem like something just needs to be lubed but not sure where exactly and does the wheel have to come off? -

Trying to track down an annoying sound coming from my steering wheel during slow speed maneuvers, parking lots etc. Sounds like a violin when you move the wheel back and forth, its slight but enough to be annoying, sounds like something is rubbing or needs to be lubed in the column - anyone... -

Not sure - do they make rhythmic noises with RPM'S...? I have heard some engine injectors make a pulse/quick ticking noise...this sounds more metal on metal to me.
