    LR4 Accessories

Hi there, Sorry for the delay, I don't always check this site. Unfortunately, the sliders are no longer available. They came from a small company in the UK called GN vehicle design or something. I would recommend the Tactical 4x4 slides if you want real protection. Regards, David

    Baja Rack for LR4

Hello Chris, Sorry for the delay, I do not check this thread too much since I got rid of my LR4. You will need to remove the front foots from the stock full-length roof rail. If you loosen it from the rail and where it goes into the roof, it will slide off. Now, there is still a rail there...

yeah that was a rock solid engine and very easy to work on at home. I love the 5.7 engine, it’s just as easy to do everything yourself. Very old school.

you said it way better than me and that’s exactly why I made the switch. Plus I got an amazing deal and could not pass it up. Some markets are more willing to give you a deal since they sell terribly.... I got a left over 2018 with 60 miles for $69,500. Yes, I negotiated and walked away from 4...

I completely agree with you! I understand your point, an interior refresh is needed to appeal to more people and for the price. I like the old school dated interior because I’m an old man. Haha! The interior is rock solid and durable, like most of their line up. It’s a lot of money to spend, but...

    LR 4 Retired

My apologies for not explaining a bit better. The LR4 is a special vehicle, it's also a Land Rover, which has a certain brand name that some people really like or prefer having as a vehicle, especially if they are going to spend upwards of over $85,000 for a new LC200. If having a "luxury" brand...

    LR 4 Retired

To be honest, I would actually caution a lot of LR4 guys to jumping to LC200, because they are not for everyone. However, I would argue it is one of the most natural progressions, perhaps along with a G wagon?

This was the most amazing description of the struggle and absolutely correct. You hit the nail on the head. I love it!

Yes sir, I am talking about iH8Mud. I agree with you about pre-2016, some of the builds were a bit weird to me. There are a lot more options now and the 2016+ builds are looking really nice and functional. That's exactly where I have migrated to as far as why I went with the LC200. I was going...

Thank you! Yes, I have the TSB number and everything, but not all of the software updates have fixed the problem. They did the software upgrade right before the holidays in hoping it would fix it, but there are a bunch that did not work. Unfortunately. I do appreciate your advice.

I was probably a bit too harsh on the Disco in my last couple of responses, likely because we’ve been having so much trouble with it I’m becoming a grouch. :-) I do agree with you in many ways, it is a nicely appointed vehicle inside, even with the plastics, I like the interior - but we’ve had a...

I just found this post on here written by my friend Dan. He did an amazing write up and really used his LR4 on and off the road. Take a look here: https://www.landroverworld.org/threads/lr4-vs-lc-after-18-months-w-the-lc.29771/

The #1 reason was reliability. I test drove about 4 different vehicles and I loved the old school feel of the Land Cruiser, combine that with the iconic heritage, extremely comfortable ride, aftermarket support, relative ease of maintenance and DIY work, it just felt like it was time to make the...

    LR 4 Retired

There have been quite a few posts on the Land Cruiser forum from former LR4 guys who made the switch, I can look them up and send them over to you via direct message. I'll also look for a few write ups that I did. I got a left over new 2018 for a great deal, but these vehicles hold their value...

You are very welcome! I have lots and lots of thoughts about LC200 vs. LR4, but it all boils down to what you need in a vehicle and how you intend to use it in regards to the type of transportation you need, number of people/pets/gear/whatever you transfer, the importance of a "name", adventure...

Thanks buddy. I will say the whole wheel/tire discussion and options are completely different on the LC200! Hahahahhha! So much easier and just way more options because you can go down to 17” and it comes with 18” stock! Who knew! Hahaha! By the way, I still have a Land Rover in my family. I...

Exactly! Very well said. The LR4s need the maintenance and do well with people who are diligent and know about the vehicle. As I said in my previous post, I miss my LR4 a lot - it was truly a special vehicle. I likely could have kept it and got a different vehicle, but I was trying to simplify...

Thanks so much! I am happy I was able to help. I have not been on this forum in about two years, nor have I been over to Overland Bound at all (and I’m #0001). Haha! I don’t have any social media anymore and it’s pretty liberating! I do search the Land Cruiser forums for information, which is...

It’s been years since I posted anything, but I was one of those original LR4 folks and maybe still have some stickies on this forum? :) As a guy who made the switch, I can say I miss my 2013 LR4, but I had to goto something different to suit my needs. I have a 2018 Toyota Land Cruiser. As I’ve...

2016 Land Rover LR4 (Discovery 4) Project Build

HAHA - I could not agree more. My big issue is that I have barely driven a stock LR4 to know how peppy they are or how they handle. I am just used to driving this big fat box on wheels. Thank you so much for posting that weight and I would assume @gulfstreamchris and I are not too far away...

2016 Land Rover LR4 (Discovery 4) Project Build

Hey Mike, I'll let Chris comment on his thoughts, but I left my stock 19" black design package full spare under my LR4 more as protection and an absolute just in case. I never plan to actually use it as a spare since I have the real spare. If you wanted to get a 6th Compomotive and tire, you...
