    LED Signature Lighting

The issue is there is no wording to determine exactly how the kit works...for DRL's I don't want to turn on any knobs etc...you want the lights to come on when the car is put in gear with only the current LED's lit and nothing else...they should also dim when the turn signals are used per DOT...

DIY Oil Changes Impossible & 2nd Battery

It seems like you can change the oild yourself but what is everyone doing about the oil reset light? How are you getting around that?

    Fuel Level Indicator Issue?

This is correct - it is simply the senders that are replaced. There is nothing wrong with the tank

LR4 Brake Problems and LR support

Are you aware that you have brake pad wear sensors...? Why even touch the brakes until that comes on (they are cheap to replace less than $20)...you had 5-7k left easy. There is no such thing as rotors "toasted" at 10k or even 40k...not unless you are lapping at Daytona. Part of the...

LR4 Brake Problems and LR support

I hear you. It's the nature of the beast. All I am saying is that there are ways to mitigate the frustration. I guess in my mind I reason out a car repair vs my time. My time is far more valuable than money (with 3 kids) so sure I can spend a day crawling around underneath my car to fix...

    Tire pressure

The reason for the discrepancy in the tires pressures is that the LR4 handles like a fine bucket of mashed potatoe's. That is it understeers like a pig when pressed (or in a panic situation) That being said those folks that have elevated pressures - in a panic situation, rain snow loss of...

    P*ss poor gas mileage

It's easy to get 20-22 miles per gallon highway. You just need to rack up the miles. At 1000k I was at 16-18 at 26k I am 20-22. It will get better and better the more things get broken in and flow better. I can get 23 mpg highway in my 2001 Disco II with 200k miles on it. It's a fact.

LR4 Brake Problems and LR support

I guess I am gobsmacked at why you would replace brakes with 10% remaining. You left 5-7k on the table which would be about exactly right around 23-25k you need rear brakes...which is right on. Also you replaced the rear rotors why? Complete and total waste of money and resources. Maybe and...

Water leak after heavy rain in passenger footwell

It seems there are two different issues....the hole sunroof drains clogged issue I have had on my Disco II - but this is the LR4 with 25k miles on it and 1.5 years old parked in a garage - doubtful the drains are clogged with anything. I can't get the full write up of the TSB - anyone have...

Water leak after heavy rain in passenger footwell

Like the title says - 2010 LR4 first time it has leaked water. After a heavy rain water was pooled in my front passenger floor board...about a cup full. Everything was closed up tight (windows, sunroof). Anyone hear of a TSB or any issues?

    Lr4 Brakes

Hysterical and fictional. I have an 01 Disco II with 198k on it. I have changed the front pads 4 times and the rears 5 times, rotors every other time...do the math. Once again....it's driving style. Those going through pads on a Disco II at 11k. Needs a drivers ed class on how not to 2...

    Lr4 Brakes

There is no reason to replace rotors at 15k - they do not need to be and should not be replaced at that mileage, unless they have been over torqued and are warped. The only reason a brake rotor would wear to the point of needing replacement is that aftermarket, more aggressive pads were used...

    Paddle shifter on a LR4?

You can easily retro fit paddle shifters to the LR4 - from the RR. But that is not true paddle shifting (mathcing revs etc) it simply moves what you can do on the shifter controlled slush box - up to the wheel for ease of use.

    Lr4 Brakes

You cannot drive with two feet. No matter how much you think you are not utilizing the brakes with your foot resting on the brake pedal...you are..... and of course they will wear twice as much along with significantly degraded gas mileage and other premature failure of parts, calipers, slides...

    Lr4 Brakes

Getting to the root cause of the issue - what exact event led you to believe you needed to replace your rotors? Was the lip of the rotor out of the serviceable range per a state inspection? or were they warped? Fronts, rears, all 4? What dealership was this? In any event - they should have...

    Lr4 Brakes

You guys are talking two different things. Service Departments "can be" huge profits centers, but the way they are run and the way the dealer treats the cutomers - they are not. They barely cover costs. Unless you are doing a huge repair out of warrranty. What I am saying - it aint on...

    Lr4 Brakes

McFly - you in there? Case hardening? What exactly is that? Never heard of that term in reference to rotors. Are you talking about the metalurgy of the rotor and the sand casting method used to produce them? If you are going through brakes every 12k - you are driving with two feet...

Exactly. If you want more power add the supercharger from the RR.... I am sure at some point someone will do this.

    Lr4 Brakes

There is a nice tidbit in that post that contains factual information... "The LR4 stock front rotors are huge at 360mm diameter and 29.99mm thick. They are heavy too at 26.45 pounds" This is precisely what contributes to excellent braking - thermal mass along with the capacity for heat...

    Lr4 Brakes

It's your driving style and your brothers wife's driving style and the man at school....yup his driving style too. LR pads and rotors are designed to work in a "large market" (like North America) to deal with varying temps and conditions - read all climates and weather. If you drive to and...

    Lr4 Brakes

Snake oil. Unless you are racing your LR4 in the 24 hr LeMans...cryo rotors are for racing applications....and no they are not for your average street car. They will do nothing for you. Cryo also depends on "how" they were cryo'ed - if done correctly I doubt they would be affordable. Beware...
