    LR3 Vehicle worst ever

Must be working on commission!:stupid: Let's see, I think the Ford Explorer/Firestone tire class action was a little more serious. The LR3 class action is ridiculous and the dealers are often pro-rating the tires now and there is a TSB that corrects a bush setting problem. Seems fair to...

Hyundai ... the new offroad star !

Amusing. Do they even make the v6 LR3 anymore? I thought they were dropped to allow room for the LR2? Those commercials are somewhat funny 'cept some Santa Fe owners take them a little too seriously. Had one pull up to me at a stoplight and gun it's engine. Um, okay. I had a good laugh as...

    Metal Rubbing Steering noise

Could be related to the lock stops needing grease: http://www.disco3.co.uk/forum/topic3853.html There is also a TSB for a steering knock. Good luck.

    LR3 vs RR Sport

Same dilemma that I find myself facing. LOVE the LR3 and my friends own a RRS so while the interior is much nicer, the RRS now feels too small. I've grown accustomed to the roomy interior and tall stance of the LR3! However, the RRS has some updates to the interior for 2008 incl. air-cooled...

    susjpension tech question

06/06 might have been borderline for getting the suspension fixes incorporated into your build. I got mine (as a recall to my early 2005 build) a little after that. B036 & B036 were the sw (& hardware) updates that finally solved my daily suspension faults. Good luck!

    Weired engine rev noise

I've just started getting a similar vibration in my 2005 HSE (Engine: Jaguar V8), though it feels like it may be more related to the tranny. Taking it in next week and I'll keep the board posted.

Is there an actual speaker fix?

Taking mine in for the 3rd time to "fix" it, last time was just 3 months ago and the fix lasted about four days. Just takes a couple clicks past the factory preset on the bass level to induce the buzzing. They've replaced the speaker, the mount, and the panel to no avail.

    Ipod integration

There was a guy on the UK site that placed his on Ebay after discovering the same. Believe he said LR was coming out with another version later this year that would accomodate the 2,4, & 8g nanos.

    Damage during service at dealer

I agree. They could've just touched it up or filled and repainted the scratch but it wouldn't have blended with the rest of the door. Repainting the entire door is the way to go. Had a 3" dent in a lower rear quarter panel but as you know the LR3's rear panel extends from the bottom to the...

    Sierra Snow and LR3

Sweet. Though, I bet the License Examiner was a bit nervous at first. Ok, thanks for the advice, my next set will be the synchrones. The HPs are excessively noisy and I wear them out fast. The software update didn't help the noise issue any as the ride is a little harsher but at least it...

    HDC on ice

Hey Houm, Just to clarify, before our next big snow/icestorm. It says that the HDC is automatically activated in Snow mode if in LOW. Are you seeing that and manually deselecting HDC? Or, as may be the case, is the owner's manual in error?

    Ipod integration

When available in the US, should look like this (LR OEM, but wouldn't fit his nano 2). http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Discovery-3-Range-Sport-iPod-In-Car-Connector-GENUINE_W0QQitemZ220072602152QQihZ012QQcategoryZ31348QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

    HDC on ice

If you have the opportunity, go for it! My sales guy did the 2-day at Montreal and raved about it. Even better, if you can convince your company to put you up on-site (Fairmont). Not sure how far it is outside Montreal proper, though. btw I remember reading about some adventuresome Rovers...

    HDC on ice

Sounds good, Houm. I've got a feeling that we'll have a snowy February! It's tough not really having a good place to test this out. Most instances of use, are as you say, not where you want to be experimenting. I believe the HDC, at 2.5 mph is even below 1st gear and the brakes rarely kick in...

    HDC on ice

The HDC uses a combination of engine braking and the ABS to maintain the set speed while keeping the wheels moving, albeit slowly. Houm, you're right there's no way to pre-set the speed of the HDC (I thought I read somewhere that you could set it to 2.5mph or 7.0mph), it's starting & minimum...

    HDC on ice

Houm, I'll give that a try next time and see how it compares. I've never tried it in low. btw what speed is your HDC set at? Hopefully, we'll get lots more snow/ice to play in this year.

    HDC on ice

I was in Snow mode/High and came to the top of the hill to peek over (wasn't going to chance it if there were too many parked cars), and decided to go for it. I put it into 1st and headed down using the transmission to brake. The hill had a slight turn and I soon noticed a pile-up at the...

    Sierra Snow and LR3

Tell me more, esp in the snow. I've been wavering on the Synchrones for a while (already on my second set of Wrangler HPs). I know that they're quiet which is a big plus but I've been getting conflicting accounts on how they perform in the snow (lots of hills where I live) and esp. cornering...

    HDC on ice

In my experience, I've found that the HDC allows me to inch down a steep and/or icy hill at a rate slower than just using 1st gear and ABS. I've done alright with the HPs probably due to the rear locker, though I've noticed some slippage in turns.HDC worked great again today and helped me avoid...

    HDC on ice

Just to note, make sure you know what your HDC is set at when you engage it. If you're inching down a hill in 1st gear at 3 mph and you decide to switch on the HDC and it's set for a higher mph, you are going to accelerate and possibly panic. Been there done that! Now my HDC is set at 2.5 mph...

    HDC on ice

I'd save it for the extra steep hills only. Downshifting seems to work well as long as the hill isn't too steep. Here's Land Rover's "10 Tips for Winter Driving": Ten tips from Land Rover to help enjoy safe winter motoring: 1. Use the highest practical gear – this limits the amount of...

    HDC on ice

I've found that manually downshifting in snow mode (with the hdc off) is enough to keep me under control on a hill. However, if it's a steep icy hill I prefer the HDC to be in control and to control the speed/braking by using the + and - cruise control buttons on the steering wheel. Now, who...

    HDC on ice

Houm, I faced a similar situation on Queen Anne Hill in Seattle. I don't think we rec'd as much snow as you did on the eastside but nevertheless what did fall tuned into ice on the side streets here last night. I found that HDC worked flawlessly until I needed to brake at the bottom of the...

    Nav Upgrade available ?

Land Rover just recently put a link on their website to Navtech's website for Nav updates. By cutting out the dealer, it should save about 40% on the price. Not sure which version they're offering yet as the website was being updated.

    G4 Challenge LR3 (Disco 3) Tires

After reading about the same tire issues over and over again on various LR3 threads, I also worry about the lack of adequate response by the dealers and LRNA. I sincerely hope that some bean-counter isn't thinking that it'll be cheaper to pay off a handful of injury settlements instead of the...
