LR3 Differential Options
Nothing broke on mine but the oil is very dirty. I think if it's just leaking it shouldn't cost very much. The seals are about $20 for each side but not sure about the main diff gasket. I used royal purple max gear oil which was $96 for 6 qts. I got extra so I could change the front and rear... -

Which diagnostic tool are you using
I'd like to get one soon but prob IID tool. As I understand it, the IID tool has much more that can be changed than the OBDCOM one. I would like to reset my TPMS and play with the height some. Are there other options besides IID that have the same functions? -

Does LR3 front cv axle diff seal need to be greased?
Can someone tell if this seal needs to be greased? I removed the old one and it looked like it was packed with grease, though it could have been sludge as my oil was very dirty. If it needs to be greased, what kind should I use? TIA! -

LR3 Differential Options
The second picture is the diff oil I drained and the cv axle seal on the diff. The seal looked like it was in really good condition but I replaced anyways as suggested from guys here. I'm going to change the diff oil twice or more. -

So when the cv axle (half shaft) is replaced, does anything have to be greased? When I took the seal off the diff, it looked like it was packed with grease. The diff oil was very dirty so I guess it could've been built up sludge. If it needs to be greased, what should I use? -

For new land rover oem sway bar bushings. Also, with the control arm bushing bolts, can I use Lucas red grease or should I stick with anti-seize compound? -

Thanks for the help. I will try the strap method for removing the cv axle if the pickle forks don't work. Unfortunately I would probably have to anchor the other end of the strap to ground as my LR3 is in the middle of my garage, so no chance of getting another vehicle next to it. I see now... -
