Empty holes above rear view mirror
My girlfriend just bought a D5 TD6 HSE Luxury and above the rear view mirror there’s two holes on either side of the passenger airbag warning light. It looks like something is supposed to clip intro the holes but we can’t figure out what they would be for. Any ideas?- Nelz99

Ideas for replacing ashtray and lighter
I never use the ashtray, cigarette lighter and power port under the HVAC controls, so I’m looking for ideas for that area. I have a 3D printer and considered making a USB charging port but there’s really no need since I installed a double din stereo with Apple Car play and keep my phone plugged... -

Increase mileage on LR3
With the larger tires and cold weather gas here, I'm now getting 11.4. I think it's time I did a tune up. -

This looks like a great solution! I've been using an iPad mini 4 connected via a bluetooth into aux input which works flawlessly, but doesn't have Apple CarPlay. I really like the backup camera feature of this as well. -

I wonder since I replaced one sensor with an aftermarket sensor and can’t get rid of the code, if the sensors are different for front and rear - 33 fr, 45 rear. -

Rattling, clunk, squeal from fr. left wheel area
well, thats what I was leaning towards then the other day the sound went away. So I'm thinking it might have been a rock in the dust shield. I jacked up the front end and theres was the slightest play in the bearing so I'm sure the hubs and bearings are due to be swapped soon... -

I notice it most when doing a slight left turn, not so much on bumps. Sounds like loose thin metal Rattling almost like a heat shielding would sound but definitely in the wheel area. The dust shield is tight and secure. -

I have this intermittent sound more noticeable at low speeds that sounds like a loose piece of sheet metal rattling but seems to be affected by the wheels speed. At very low idle crawl it sounds like brakes squeaking, and there's the occasional clunking sound going up hill and turning.... Would... -
Did I tear my air suspension by jacking up the rear end?
While trying to find the source of a rattling/squeaking noise, I lifted the rear end and took the rear wheel off and noticed this. Did I do this by jacking on the frame in front of the rear wheel and missing some special procedure for jacking an LR? Is the airbag shot or is that just a dust cover? -

yeah that works to turn it off, but I was looking for a way to have it off by default when the car is started -

I want to put an iPad where the nav screen is but don't want the nav screen on behind it. is there a setting to disable the nav screen without unplugging it and messing things up? -
2006 LR3 aftermarket radio
Thats a great idea! I already have the original iPod connector with a bluetooth receiver. Having a cellular iPad sounds like the easiest solution without having to hack up any of the factory radio/nav. Thanks! -
No sound from radio or sound system after sunroof leak into passenger footwell

I've been wanting to replace the Land Rover nav screen with a CarPlay stereo and was wondering if its possible to connect an aftermarket stereo through the iPod cable already coming out of the dash? Or replace that cable with something that goes from an output of the double din CarPlay radio... -

I ended up ordering the bolt-on hitch from Atlantic British. It looks pretty stout and way more affordable than the factory hitch. It's mostly going to be used for a bike rack but I'm going to haul a trailer when I move soon. Thanks for the detailed info! -

Thank you! This is exactly what I was looking for. So while the original owner did get a ton of ad-ons including the iPod dock on the dash and USB aux hub in the glove box, and this LR3 still had every accessory like the bag for roof rack rails, all of the documents, and factory hitch wiring... -
