2015 LR4 - Parking brake failure, help needed

Hi folks I park on an inclined driveway, and on multiple occasions unless the car is absolutely stationary when I engage the parking brake I hear a grinding noise and then parking brake failure. I have to sometimes turn the car off then on, then disengage the brake then engage again, just to get...

    Wheels and Tires?

Hi, I have a 2015 LR4, which I wanted to take on Offroad trips. I moved to 18" Tuffant steelies which do not need spacers (they sell 2 versions, one with an offset). I use these with 265/65/18 KO2, and its been a great experience. Great ride, very little rubbing anymore (in the very beginning...

New TPMSs for new R18 tires LR4

I installed TuffAnts on my 2015 LR4 at Discount Tire. Their sensors did not work. Instead of exploring a different frequency, they decided to buy Land Rover original sensors, so problem solved. A few weeks later I spoke to another shop who deals with Land Rovers, they suggested they have ordered...

Are all terrains really necessary for even mild offroading?

I had 19” original rims and conti tires, and got stuck a couple of times in mud and light snow. So before I started using the vehicle Offroad I switched to 18” steel rims and 265/65/18 bfg ko2s. Since then I’ve had a great time Offroad and on road is not too affected (slightly noisier and...

    Should I buy this LR4?

No, its the rear main seal. After getting quoted $$$$ for fixes, I found "Blue Devil" rear mail seal fix which is an additive to the oil and fixes leaks. Seems to have done the trick.

    Should I buy this LR4?

I would say this is overpriced, even if it had none of the problems you list. For perspective, I bought the 2015 LR4 you see in my photo just 2 months ago with about 35000 miles on the clock for around $34k. I'd think >100k miles should be MUCH lower in price, so if its not, its because of the...

2013 LR4 I'm new need advice on wheels

@CRYA I had used the following thread as reference. This guy has the same size tires https://www.landroverworld.org/posts/220348/ I recall when I did it there was also some setting where I specified 265/65/18 as the tire size

2013 LR4 I'm new need advice on wheels

So I thought after a few 100 miles I'd give you an update on how I'd doing with my 265/65/18 BFG KO2's, @adclark. This includes off-roading for about 45miles in "moderate to difficult" terrain. I gotta say I'm incredibly happy with the switch - they're comfortable, not much louder than the...

2013 LR4 I'm new need advice on wheels

So I have to say it comes down to your personal preference - how much you're willing to operate outside the safe and convenient route, and what you're changing tires for. If I was 100% rational and was just doing this for very occasional off-road use / appearance, I'd stick to 265/60/18s, and...

2013 LR4 I'm new need advice on wheels

I am 99% sure the later LR4s cannot do 17" rims because of larger brakes. In fact when I was fitting in 18", the tire shop commented that even those have very minimal clearance.

Bolt-on Roof Racks for LR4 Without Rails?

I also did the same, needed the cross-bars (which are Thule apparently for OEM) and went to car-part.com and found a factory pair but with the rails attached, and they couldn't remove because they didn't have the key! So I have ordered the key from Amazon...

2013 LR4 I'm new need advice on wheels

Yes, I'll be reviewing it today in daylight, to see if I need to do anything about it. I expect its happening at the frame horns as others have mentioned above. I feel that since turns at full lock are rare, I'll just be more careful with those. I have heard that as the tires wear out more, this...

2013 LR4 I'm new need advice on wheels

I did sense some vibration at highway speeds, and a friend suggested a load force realignment and balancing. I’ll be doing that. Otherwise, looking forward to trying these off-road!

2013 LR4 I'm new need advice on wheels

Installed the 265/65/18 ko2 with Tuffants. Some rubbing at full lock in normal height, but not too much. Will examine wheels tomorrow to see where exactly. Also, the spare wouldn’t go in unless deflated, so I’ll need to carry my compressor at all times (used to do it only for off-road use).

2013 LR4 I'm new need advice on wheels

@adclark and others - my Tuffant 18" steelies are being delivered today, and I will be fitting them with 265/65/18 KO2s tomorrow. Will let you know of any issues with 1) rubbing, and 2) fitting in the spare. My expectation is that it will rub when in access height OR perhaps even in Normal...

2013 LR4 I'm new need advice on wheels

@sandythedisco and @adclark - ordered the TuffAnts because they're steel and cheaper and I hear easier to repair. Cost of course is weight. On the tires, chose KO2s because I have driven those in rocky areas (Death Valley shale and rock) and they handled really well when aired down off road and...

2013 LR4 I'm new need advice on wheels

@adclark, I have done some research on this topic, and have arrived at a similar solution to @sandythedisco above. Basically, if you order 18" rims, many need spacers, however TuffAnts (tuffantusa.com) are steel rims that do not need offsets. Next, you have to decide which tire. 265/60/18s...
