With weight distribution systems you not only have the tongue weight of the trailer putting load on the hitch but the cargo weight behind the rear axle in the vehicle as well. I think it was etrailer.com where I read a good explanation of this
Considering the wimpy design of the LR3 hitch (I...
I find the pedal box to be quite nice but like richpike I am also used heel toe downshifting in a sports car.
For safety sake I would be very apprehensive about modifying anything to do with the pedals.
The GC8 is a fun car
I have owned the following FHI products
99' Impreza RS
00' Outback Wgn
02' WRX
04' WRX STi (sorely missed traded for the LR3 :frown: )
and now the 08 Tribeca
If you have only one child seat it is recommended you install it in the middle seat because of better protection from side impact. Obviously installing on one side or the other gives the child a 50/50 chance of being on the same side as the hit and closer to the impact area. :ahhhhh:
I've...
It sounds like you have your mind made up on the Graco and that seat sounds great. My kids are 4 & 8 when I bought my kids seats Britax was the seat to have hands down and I can vouch for the quality of construction having owned 5 of them.
The B- rating in Consumer Reports article was the...
I only put my kids in Britax seats. There is plenty of info about them online.
The LR3 LATCH connectors are the easiest I've seen to snap into.

I've been on the Kumho Road Venture APT 18" for about 5,000 miles. No real signs of wear yet. They seem good as far as sound and ride quality, off road about as good as the GY's. I just hate the way they look. They have to be the ugliest sidewalls ever made. I bought them from tirerack.com for...
I tow a 3500lb. boat. and it's fine. The air susp is neat in that the rear end compensates for the tongue weight so there is no sag. Also when uncoupling the trailer the susp drops down, saving a few cranks on the jack. My dad couldn't get over that
This is my first and last Land Rover...
It's more the little annoyances than poor reliability. ie: the intermittent steering wheel radio buttons, random engine idle fluctuations, e-brakes locking up at highway speeds :hmpf:
But it did leave me stranded once in 31,000 miles, which is why I give it a below average, a $45k+ vehicle of...
Not sure on the brake controller, but I did install the LR Harness, was very easy.
My trailer has surge brakes and the LR3 is prewired for the reverse lockout for that.
If you have LED lights on your trailer it can be a problem. When I plugged my boat trailer into the LR3 the trailer tail...
I would be happy to do something like that but they do not offer loaners. LRNA said it’s up to the dealer they do not have to provide loaners or rentals.
The service manager spoke over my wife on speaker phone and was condescending to the point she hung up on him. My wife is a business...
2005 LR3 SE V8
Started about a month ago. On acceleration and especially when going up an incline the engine seems like it is struggling to move the truck. I feel a slight vibration and engine has a different sound to it. The issue has been getting worse. Best way to describe it, It feels...
How old is this update? I had my 05' done with whole vehicle upgrade whatever campaign.
I still have the problem with the trans and it really bothers me since I have several yield signs to & form work where the problem really becomes apparent.
Dealer states they cannot replicate the...
Not to mention if you have a problem you would most likely be denied warranty coverage if you were to do any of the above modifications.
The LR3 already has a cold air intake that is what the grill in the passenger side fender is for.
16 mpg is not to bad really I avg 13.2
I know you can use a c-clamp & wood etc... But I purchased this brake caliper tool set from harbor freight on sale. (The store is down the street from my house) and it makes the job so much easier. $29.99 non-sale price isn't too bad...
I got 23k out of the pads. Where I live it seems like there is a traffic light every 10ft and it’s continuous stop-n-go.
I ordered the above mentioned aftermarket kit from Atlantic British. They had a special running at the time, if you spend over $350 you got free shipping. So that helped...
I called LR USA they couldn't give 2 cents about me or my issues, and I will never EVER again buy, lease or borrow a vehicle from this manufacturer.
They could not find any such recall about a clip, nor give me a straight answer about warranty.
I asked if I use genuine parts on my vehicle...
Thanks for the reply.
Interesting it was your left rear becuase my problem was with the left rear as well
They charged me $87 labor to loosen up the e-brake adjustment. So for it is working but I think they just masked the real problem.
The problem came back, naturally when I was on my way up to the lake house for vacation. As soon as I hit 70mph the e-brake comes on. If I pull over and stop the issue is still there if I take off again. If I stop and turn off the key the problem goes away until I hit 70 again.
Dealer claims...
Just thought I would share this.
I was traveling down the interstate this Saturday towing an small empty landscape trailer. Had been on the road for about a good 30-40 mins when I start to feel a vibration that got very severe very fast. I assume its either a tire failing or a hub bearing on...
