1. What sort of symptoms would you expect that require a cross over pipe replacement? I have had oil cooler and water pump replaced over the last few years on my 2013 (60k miles) so estimating what the next issue could be and seems cross over pipes are pretty common too. How did you know that you had an issue that required crossover pipe replacement? I am not asking as an expert but somebody just trying to learn of all the things that go wrong in an LR4, how do they know what the symptoms are- david cook

Thank you for sharing. Clearly the mechanic is overcharging . I have going to them for years and now I know where there honesty factor is. Irony is the other non-dealer expert repair estimated 30% more than this. Now I know how they mark up and overjustify their work- david cook

Updating here for future readers: mechanic could not find obvious leaks, so cleaned the stain off the engine (it was stained at various places). Asked us to drive a 100 miles and bring it back. Fellow Land Rover Fans: It is definitely engine oil. Once I put a tray in, I could see accumulation, and this is over the course of 10 days so a minor leak. Pic attached. Front Control Arm Replacement on LR4 and saw a warning light come on
Thank you everybody for the quick responses. Both front lower control arms were replaced. Its possible height sensor issue then or mangled. I am taking it back later this week so this sort of expert insight is really helpful. This was not done at the dealer but by a mechanic who only does LRs...- david cook

Looking for thoughts on leak under engine block
Pls see photo. Curious to hear what you think this very small leak is. Location right under the engine block. Oil levels (coolant) and engine oil seem okay and I am keeping a close eye. Would appreciate advice on how to narrow this down and potential correction, if any. Thank you!- david cook

Control arm fail
I am knew to this control arm issue: car about 50K miles (2013) and failed inspection. Mechanic said I should replace lower front right/left control arms.
