    Heater core swap

Just wrapped this project up. I bought the OEM model of the coolant vacuum tool. I pulled the lower rad hose off and drained the system, although I was surprised at how little fluid came out. Only about 4-5 litres. Put it all back together and pulled a vacuum. Held at -24 psi without a hint of...

    Heater core swap

Replaced with a new water pump when I did head gaskets. In theory that should be all good. I just ordered that airlift kit to see if it's going to be an airlock. I love this LR4 but it's by far the most involved I've ever needed to be with a vehicle. At this point it's a hobby just to keep it...

    Heater core swap

This is good help, I think I'm going to first try the airlift and see if I can pull any airlocks out of the system. My rear heat is operating in a similar way with not blowing unless I'm revving above idle, could be just an air lock. I did some work on the head gaskets last year so had to drain...

    Heater core swap

Yeah I thought the same, I checked the hoses right next to the glove box and one in piping hot while the other is about room temp.

    Heater core swap

Hi all, My 2011 LR4 has been giving some grief in terms of cabin heat. It blows real nice and hot when above 1200 rpm but below that, specifically at idle, it blows ambient temp. I've tried the flushing method with setting up a circulation pump and pushing clr and hot water back and forth...

    Misfire cylinder 8

Pulled exhaust cam off yesterday and swapped tappets between cylinder 2 & 8. Valve lash was then back in spec and once I fired her up the misfire was gone. Seems like valve lash was my problem the whole time. This one seems solved. Thanks everyone for your help!

    Misfire cylinder 8

Pulled valve cover to measure valve lash and looks like we may be onto something here. Tappets were marked when removed from the engine but seem to have been put in front to back instead of back to front. Cylinder 2 tappets have clearance of 0.5 mm while Cylinder 8 which is misfiring has no...

    Misfire cylinder 8

They were spilled so not placed in the original positions. Might be the source of my misery. I'll have to open up the valve cover to check clearances.

    Misfire cylinder 8

Could it be valve clearance. Recently did head gaskets, could be wrong sized tappets?

    Misfire cylinder 8

Compression sitting around 150 +/- 5 psi all cylinders dry.

    Misfire cylinder 8

Misfire seems constant, almost seems to be every other rotation. Cabling and grounding look good. Will have to check compression again

    Misfire cylinder 8

Looked into it today, but seemed to be a dead end. Is there a possibility that the intake manifold has a crack that only affects one cylinder? Grasping at straws a little here.

    Misfire cylinder 8

Spark seems good, tested with an online spark tester and it seems to fire as expected. I've never heard of cam buckets doing that, first time for everything I guess.

    Misfire cylinder 8

Hi all, I have a 2011 LR4 that has a persistent cylinder 8 misfire. It will pop a code p0316 and p0308, does not give me a P0300. However with live reading I can see that it is constantly misfiring. I've changed the injectors around, put in new spark plugs and swapped around coils. Misfire...
