03 Disco Transmisison

I have an 03 DII with 134K miles, I had a rotational noise coming through the rear transmission/transfer case. I went through rebuilding the driveshafts with no change in the noise. I changed the fluids in both the trans and t-case. I had no metal in the transmission and some shavings on the plug of the t-case. I 've removed the transfer case with the expectation of a bad input bearing, but I've noticed a fair amount of play in the output shaft of the transmission in the range of 1/16" as noticed by the parking gear, not the end of the shaft. This movement is up and down/side to side. Does anyone know what amount of movement is normal?
