My 2000 Discovery II is dead. It has 110,000 miles on it. Went for a ride. Stopped to shop. Cranked fine. Stopped at another store. Came back to vehicle. Would not start. Does not turn over. No sound. No lights on dash. Stuck in park. The drivers door will open with the key inserted. Nothing else is working. I mean NOTHING. Please help.

Either dead battery, or check the battery cables to see if they are tight.

Thank you for the reply. The truck had been running fine up until this point. I think when I stopped, I turned the ignition off while in drive. Could this have done something? It just stopped working that suddenly.

I would still say battery or battery terminal. My 97 battery went dead once with zero notice. Fired up, drove somewhere and dead. The only way I could tell that it was the batter is the clock would reset to 12:00 after each attempt to start.

Then another time I pulled into a 7-11 and went out and nothing... found the ground cable completely loose and wouldn't even turn the lights or anything on.

Joey,
You were right on the money. I went over there this morning and removed the positive terminal. There was a little corrosion on the end. Cleaned this off, put the cable back on tighten the negative cable. I got in and it fired right up. Thanks again for your help and prompt response to my problem. Have a Happy New Year.
