I was about to go to class today when i noticed a puddle under the front right side of my vehicle. I was praying to god that it wasn't from my car so I started her up and tried to turn the wheel and basically couldn't so I knew it was my power steering fluid on the ground. My Disco is in great shape and had no leaks, but I had noticed my power steering was getting louder and louder. I checked the levels but it was all good so I assumed everything was fine until today. I did notice the fluid container (now basically empty) was loose, and the ride from my home town to where I go to school has some mean frost heaves. Could it have been jostled loose and spilled? Any help would be much apreciated.

You should hope, but no, you have blown a seal or a hose.
Do not drive it till you have someone find and fix the problem.

Thanks Mike, I go to school in Rhode island but my mechanic is about an hour and a half away, do you think I could fill up the PSF and make the drive?

If you don't want to burn up you pump, you had better take a lot of fluid with you or you will get stranded.
Can't you find a closer mechanic? You need to start doing your own work if you plan on keeping that truck, Disco's are not hard to work on.

Ya I brought a few extra quarts with me but when I stopped to check the fluid level it was fine. I made it back to my hometown ok and then the next morning all the fluid was on a piece of card board I put under the engine. Thanks for all the advice I really appreciate it.

You need to get under the pump with a light and find the leak, sounds like the best time to do this is after a drive and it sits for a while.
