2002 Discovery 2 Change Trans Filter ?

I am original owner of 2002 Discover 2 with 136,000K. As per owners manual I changed trans fluid and filter at 30,000K. Owners manual says to change filter one time only. My question is can and should I change filter and can I do harm since manual says to change one time only ?

changing it is good, and fine, but not recommended for DIY people since obtaining the correct final fluid level requires knowing the transmission fluid temperature and simply draining the fluid and refilling does not constitute a fluid replacement
