I have a 2003 Discovery S Landrover. My driver side window would not roll up but I could hear the motor running. I opened the door side panel and found the regulator had a broken caster wheel and the gear mechnism was broken off the regulator (spot welds failed). I reattached the gear and fabricated a new caster. Reinstalled motor and regulator . Window will roll up perfectly and stop as it should. However, when I roll the window down it just continues to run and the motor goes all the way past the gear on the regulator. What makes the windo stop at the bottom? I bought a new motor and that did not correct the problem. Should I buy a regulator?
