Ok here is a tricky one
We all understand the major key issues on these 2005 LR3's. Well Ii have to dish out $600 for a new key and programming key charge (WHAT A SCAM!!).

but here's my real issue....PLEASE HELP.

I have 2 2005 LR3's (White & Green) and the other day I went to start my White LR3 and put the wrong key into the ignition (Green Key) and followed up with my White LR3 key and all of sudden the key would not start the truck, even worse it wont even turn.

Does anyone have any clue? Is there some kind of computerized key identifier that now has rejected the right key because the wrong key was put in? I called Land Rover and they were clueless, they said that the wrong key might have jammed something in the ignition and everything needs to be torn out and inspected. I literally inserted the key and realized it was wrong and removed it. No jamming, no forcing, no nothing. Is the ignition this sensitive that it now rejects the right key? PLEASE HELP. ANY IDEAS?

Now the LR3 cannot be started and its stuck in the garage. Ii tried disconnecting the battery in hopes the ignition would reset and accept the key, but no luck.

This computerized crap is driving me crazy on these vehicles!!

Now how can I get the vehicle in neutral to move it? or tow it? with no key?

Mark if no one is replying it's because this one is a mystery. I've been on this board for nearly 10 years and I've never heard this one. Seems like the mechanical aspect of the key should work. I'm shocked, frankly, that the wrong key would even fit in the ignition. That said, you should make CERTAIN that you are putting the correct key in.

The vehicle has probably triggered some theft deterrent. Seeing as this scenario is most likely to happen at a dealership, I would give them a call and ask them if they can, or how to disable or reset it.

Most certainly you will not find that on the forums, as car thieves would love to have that information.
