Okay so, I want to come to some experts, though they may be a bit biased, for an opinion on what my next vehicle purchase should be. I've narrowed it down to two options. I apologize if this becomes a long post.

2006-2012 RRS (prefer 2010-2012 for the 5.0)

Or

2012-2014 Ford Raptor

I have owned Fords all my life, but I fell in love with the RRS as a freshman in college. I also fell in love with the Raptor.

My current DD is a 2001 SVT Cobra, that I'd like to retire as a weekend car to restore to it's former glory. That, and it is horrible on ice...and the heat of the summer..and rain...hell if it's not sunny and 75 it's an interesting experience. I like north of Tulsa, OK. So anyone around here knows we can almost experience all of those elements in a three day period.

Anyway, I don't really off road, don't have a family yet, just a girlfriend and a good job that's 45 mile round trip.

So here's what's in my head:

-Advantages-

Range Rover Sport (HSE or Supercharged I'm not picky):
-Elegant
-Comfortable
-Quality..?
-Very nice features (seriously refrigerated glove box?)
-James Bond drove one in Quantom of Solace...please don't shun me.
-Beautiful
-Impressively safe
-Can lower a bit, access for my elderly grandmother with two replaced knees.
-Resale
-Status symbol (really goes for any Land Rover product)

Raptor
-you can jump it
-Better ride than average truck
-power
-it's a truck=bed
-looks awesome (my opinion)
-presumanly less maintenance than RRS
-fun to drive
-definentaly demands attention
-I would guess less expensive to modify
-tall
-it's like the Tonka truck every boy dreamed of in full scale.

-Disadvantages-

Range Rover Sport
-maintenance cost/parts
-price (almost a brand new Raptor for used RRS..almost)
-reliability..correct me if I'm wrong here
-theft target
-no bed, less storage
-really don't want to get it dirty in the cargo area. It's a Range Rover.

Raptor
-gas mileage (11/16)
-don't want a crew cab, so less cabin space
-about as elegant as a moose drunk on vodka
-not accessible to my grandmother or short people
-parking will suck
-not going in the garage either. I guess I could build it a house?

So..anyone who would like to shed light with an opinion, I'd appreciate it. It's a tough decision for me, because I love both vehicles, in part because they are so different. I feel like a used RRS would still be less expensive than a new Raptor even though it's a Range Rover, in part due to the slightly better gas mileage and I'm sure insuring the vehicles would be similarly priced.

Thank you for your time!
God Bless

Chase
