Driving along after several hours of driving, applied brakes only to find no brake assist; totally quit; no warning lights or anything! Gladly was able to stop with tremendous pressure applied. 1.) shouldn't a warning light come on if you have no vacuum? No vacuum leak discovered, no hissing sounds either.
After researching, I came to believe it was the vacuum booster. I pulled the hose connector at the booster off and started the engine. No suction at the booster. Should it not be providing suction whenever engine is running? I am hoping that the problem is the booster as that is relatively easy to replace; the nearest LR dealer is over 100 miles away...
