Need information of possibility of converting my problematic 3.9 to a chvy 350?
Sick of shelling money out on a 1995 with 57,000miles.

Any information or recommendations would be outstanding!

I have heard of this being done, but it wasn't cheap nor easy... also if you were to do this remember to change out the transmission, transfer case, and the front and rear diffs as well as axels... (they are not designed to hold up to that much torque)

Do you know if anyone has an outline anywhere as to how he/she did it?

Oh boy....

...I'm not sure, but doing a search on www.discoweb.org or www.pirate4x4.com's Land Rover forum might get you somewhere.

Joey's right -- this would be an expensive endeavor, unless you have a relatively new donor Chevy. Even then, the electronics would be a disaster, unless you were going to pull the Rover electronics and replace with GM parts.

Why not sell the Rover and buy a Chevy with a 350?

Better yet if your going to do a conversion...go desiel. Better yet go ahead and do the biodesiel conversion (it's not much more if your shelling out the dough for the conversion anyway). Then you can run your truck on old cooking grease :)

If I were in the market for a new engine. That's what I would do. Just my 2 cents.

Where is there good info on the Desiel conversion (not the biodesiel)?
