1999 Range Rover 4.0S...

If it sits for more than two days with out starting, it , it takes a few seconds of cranking before it fires up..

If it is started every day, it will fire right up..

it has a new fuel filter...

Depending on mileage, could be spark plugs, wires, fuel pump, coil pack.... Not knowing what you have checked or done other than new fuel filter.

I has recently read a thread that said on Rovers to absolutely NOT drive when Service light is on....and it was okay to drive with Check Engine light...I thought it was the opposite..

Appears the (Sherman Valve?) on the fuel pump is loosing pressure, so that will take a bit to replace, in the mean time turning the ignition on but not cranking then off, then on again will cause enough pressure to fire the engine up..

works for now..
