Anyone help a NOOB with a standard question?

Getting ready to purchase a used Disco, either a 2000 or 2001, I don't know the difference between a Disco I and Disco II, can someone please explain. Is one better than the other?

Adam,
The last D1 was sold in 99 so that won't be a problem for you.
The difference for the most part is that the D2 is a longer vehicle with a few more bells and whistles.
What are you planning to do with this truck??
Do you plan to modify it and use it alot of the road??

I plan to use for off-road mildly, but mainly as a daily driver. Some mods will be put in. When I did a vehicle search for 2001 it gave me an option for I & II's, I checked them both and received different vehicles, is this from people just not knowing what they are talking about. I tried this at autotrader.com.

Adam,
You got it, they are no longer made as of mid 99.
If you plan on playing with the truck some, go towards a 00 since it has a CDL type t/case which will be a great advantage for you off the road.

You need the CDL (center diff lock). Good luck! Let us know what you find.
