Auto Transmission Fault 2002 Range Rover

Hi,

2002 Range Rover V8 Petrol Auto 90000 miles, under moderate to heavy throttle, transmission noise and then a loud bang from transmission, drives fine on light throttle. Independant auto. box specialist had vehicle for 6 weeks, removed cleaned valve block in gearbox for cleaning and testing, serviced transmission, renewed internal and external wiring loom.
Vehicle still no different ! New Auto gearbox, stator & torque convertor just fitted by marque specialist £2200 plus vat including new oil cooler. Fault no different !
Anyone had similar trouble with resolution ? Please no stabs in the dark !

Check the U-Joints on the drive shafts... I just seen one recently that the front drive shaft came apart and took out most of the front of the transmission.
