I didn't search. Computer is so slow.............ahh there we go

I'm in a Cruiser right now and keep seeing these lr3's roaming around. Obviously either one is a supermom soccer car. Or a trail rig. It depends on what you make of it. Highend luxury with capable offroading an crawling capabilities ( I rock crawl in mine)

Whats your opinion on the 100 series vs lr3 in terms of articulation and lockers.

And whats those things hanging down in the back. Looks like ass cheeks underneath. Someone said they are heat sheilds for the spare. My exhuast has been 3" from my spare for 108 k amd never bursted into flames.

land cruisers are bad ass off road and liftable but an LR3 is more comfortable and stock has better articulation and ground clearance by far

What are the articulation "numbers" for the Land Cruiser? What about crawl ratio? I think both can come with a rear locker, right?

I dont know the numbers off hand. I beleve the LR3 would shine thru stock for stock. The rear locker is an option on the hse model. All LR3s come stock with a cdl.

I believe the rear locking differential used to be standard on older Discoveries. It is now an option - part of the Heavy Duty Package, which also comes with a full size spare, for around $550. Stock vs. stock, a locked LR3 would perform better IMO, but both need better all terrain tires at least. I seriously considered the Land Cruiser, back when I bought my first Land Rover in 06. It was just a little too big for my needs, and felt too generic. But I had driven lots of Japanese (Honda, Mazda, Toyota, Lexus) up to that point, so I was probably just ready for something different.

That's how I felt about the Lexus GX470. I called it "boring" but generic is probably a better word for it. I had been in a Mitsubishi for 8 years before that and wanted something different. Plus I'd wanted a Rover for a long time....just couldn't afford it in my youth!

...a Land Cruiser is a very respectable 4x4 though, for sure.
