Considering a suspension lift on my 03' Discovery SE7. I went to Atlantic British's website and found a complete kit for 639.00 or so. My question is what is the driveability differences on the highway between a "medium duty" 2" lift and a "hevy duty" 2" lift?

I must admit I just love the way the Disco looks when propped up a little higher on longer springs. I parked mine next to a similar 03' Discovery at the airport yesterday and felt quite inferior as they already had the lift with what looked like the ARB kit from Atlantic British.

Will my highway driving comfort greatly suffer? Or anything else?

Do you do any offroading? And do you have any extras on your D2 (ie. HD bumpers, winch, roof rack, guards, rock sliders, etc.) If you have any extra weight you may want to consider the HD springs. If not (and you dont plan to in the future) you should get the MD springs.
If you get the HD springs with no extra weight then your comfort will suffer. With the D2 you may also want to consider upgrading your driveshafts also.
Good Luck

Thanks for your reply, Mike. I do some light offroading. Mostly when I tow my dirtbike out into the wilderness. I suppose I'm looking for the full 2" lift, but with some on road comfort. I was told by Atlantic British that the Medium duty lift kit accomplished about a 1 1/2" lift.

Also, are the EBC brake rebuilt kits worth their salt? I needed rear pads at 25K and now need front pads and rotors at 34K. As you can see, I'm not having the best of luck with my brakes either.

Thanks again.

Brakes don't last long on the Rovers if you do any city driving at all... and I can say for my D1 the EBC upgrade is wonderful, I live in the hills of WV and it has improved stopping and hot brakes alot.... need to do the SS line upgrade one of these days.... hmmmm might just order those now that I think about it again.

I'm going to replace my front rotors and pads with regular stuff from my local independent shop. Next time, it's the EBC kit for sure. By the way, Midas is more expensive for brakes/rotors than Land Rover! I had a coupon for a free inspection.......otherwise I would not have gone there.....and won't in the future.

Thanks for the info.

if you are going to change the springs of your disco, get rovertym springs! i have both ome and rte springs installed on my discos. the rtes outshine the omes in all aspects except for maybe heavy cargo carrying. smoother on road ride and better off road. a rovertym setup with either bilstein or ome shocks is $40 cheaper than the ome setup ab has. do some more reading about the ome and rte springs before you buy.
