Disco I Door Handle

My 96 Disco has decided to no longer let me in through the driver door. I have looked at the parts and am not sure what to do. I can either buy and replace the outer handle or the latch. My theory is as follows:

Since the disco allows me to open the door from the inside, I need a new outer handle.

Can anyone confirm or deny my theory?

Also, I read something in the forums about lubing the linkage. I am hoping to do this before I drop $135. There is no visible linkage under the handle. What should I be looking for?

A little TriFlow went a long way. I just sprayed the hell out of it and all is good.

Hi,

Yeah my 96 passenger door handle opens after two pulls. The dealer said my whole door handle assembly needs to be replaced, or as I translated: $500 dollars. So they lubed my door really good and it worked a little better.
Just thought I'd share my story.
