Disco roof

I have just bought a 97 disco for 750$. It runs and everything is in fair condition. Anyway the only real problem that there seems to be is that there is rust on and around the alpine windows, and the rain gutters. In some spots it goes all the way through. I have thought about it and since I see that there are rust spots on the top of the roof itself, I decided I would replace the whole roof. Anyway I was wondering if anyone has done this. If so can you tell what it takes to get the roof off. Is it just bonded on? Any and all help will be much appreciated!

I have heard of several people starting this project, but have not heard of anyone finishing this ordeal.

Just fix the rust... at only $750 you could do almost anything from fixing to stripping the entire thing and selling on ebay... either way you can't lose.
