Just wondering if any of you fellas have done the "no solder" dvd install on an LR3. I am going to put a in car PC in my LR3 and would like to give this method a shot. I would sooner not void the radio/nav warranty until the time is up. Just looking for some feedback.

here's what im talking about. http://www.disco3.co.uk/forum/topic6915-15.html

Yes, I'm one of the earliest idiots that experimented with connecting something to the unused rear inputs. (I may have posted here, as well on the old abandonded Land Rover Chronicles Forum. It's been a few years...)

Nothing to void warranty, unless you break something yourself. You are just plugging into a composite video input. Since it's only viewable in diag mode, it's not that great.

You'd need to buy an overpriced hack from Nav-TV if you want to be able to select the composite video while not in diag mode. Also, don't expect great quality for "car PC" use since it's analog composite video. Good luck.

thanks for the info. i just wanted to know if it worked. i will have other screens connected to the pc, mostly i wanted it for dvd's (which i know is not that great of resolution) i am currently a network technician and have some really cool hardware to throw in, but wanted something quick for up front viewing. mostly for wardriving and auditing. did you just make the cable yourself, or did you get a prefab?
