electrical problems - turn on lights, hazards come on

for some reason, when i turn on my low beams, it triggers something in the electrical system, and then the hazards come on. if i turn off the lights, the hazards still blink. it doesn't matter if i press the hazard light button anymore, because it won't respond. also, when this happens, the power locks won't work. the hazards don't shut off until i turn off the car, and turn it back on. very weird, but anyone know what is going on?

Sounds like maybe a bad inertia switch... Under hood on the passenger side firewall. Kind of round with a button on it (can't remember it the button is on top or the bottom)

On the D2 the button is on the top. Not sure about the D1. I had a similar problem only mine would not start, the hazards were flashing, and the doors unlocked automatically. I posted my issues on another site (prior to knowing about RWO). Somehow the inertia switch got triggered. I simply pushed the button and it started fine.

This would be the easiest thing to try.
