Factory roof cross bars

Does anyone know where or how I can get a replacement key for the crossbars and has anyone used them to haul a 14 ft kayak? Thanks.

You get it from Thule or Yakima...I forget who makes the locks. Google "LR3 Roof Rack Lock" and I suspect you'll get your answer. You can give them the 4 digit code on the lock or a spare key and they'll make a new key for you, or you buy new locks.

I have hauled 3 kayaks up there, longest being 12 feet, with no issues. I don't even use a kayak rack. Just throw them up there one at a time, lash each one individually and build a big 'yak sandwich!

I have the factory bars and mine are made by Thule, should be a sticker on them. Look at the lock, there will be a number written on it. As stated above go to the Thule web site and you can order replacement keys using the number, it was $6.50 for the keys and about the same for shipping. Or you can try just about any locksmith that does autos.

I've hauled a 15 foot coleman canoe, and a 24' extension ladder..

And they are made by Thule.. You can order a key for $3-4.
