Fog lights not working

I replaced the bulb for the fog light but when I checked to see if it was working, the dash and taillights both went out. I replaced the fuse, tried it again and the same thing happened. Could I be using the wrong bulb? I bought it at Wal-Mart Sylvania H3-55

I would check the ground for the bulb.... sound more like a ground issue.
