I have a 06 LR3 HSE. When i turn into a steep driveway, drive on rough or cobbled street, or the like, there is a plopping sound coming from the front end with very abrupt impact. It was the worst when driving on a cobblestone street in an historic district - felt like the whole front end (primarily passenger side) was wobbling uncontrollably. It seems to be affecting the overall quality of the ride, even on relatively smooth roads, except the highway. The air suspension seems to be working, as the "raise/lower" functions are working, as is the level-out when the alarm is set. When I had tires changed (not at the dealer), they said they didn't see anything structural and pointed to maybe an issue with the airbag. So I am stuck.

The vehicle has received regular maintenance and only had to have a brake sensor replaced (though the bad switch was wreaking havoc on everything from the transmission to suspension).

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Check front end bushings. There's a million threads related to this. Also, the Anti Roll Bar (ARB) bushings may be shot. One or the other. Most likely a combo of the two if you've never had them serviced before.
