Front Power Seat

I have a 97 Disco SE 7 with a passenger (right ) side power seat that will not operate forward or backward. The backrest operates as does the angle of the seat. Is this a motor, cable or switch problem? Thanks

Is it possible that something is jammed up in the tracks? like a pen or coin or something?

I don't think so because I don't hear the motor when I hit the switch to go forward or back. I'm thinking motor but maybe the switch is bad.

Mine did the same thing. I popped the switch out and pulled it apart (not hard to do) and when I put it back together it worked again.

Clean the switch and things will improve. then get it to a place where you are comfortable and never move it or let anyone else drive the truck

Tommy, you can take it apart and clean the contact parts with a switch cleaner or plain alcohol. Be very carefull though coz it's full of small steel balls and springs.
when closing up, you'll need to seat the ball on the springs and also lub them, so I used a sticky grease spray suitable for bike chains.

Also, I just purchased a Haynes Manual for the Discovery on-line from Haynes UK for 14 pounds Sterling if anybody was looking for one. Haynes manuals for Land Rovers are not available from the US publisher. The manuals were very detailed for my 94 Volvo and 90 Jaguar and I'm hoping it's just as good for the Discovery.

I think they Haynes Manual for the Disco only covered the D1??? I could be wrong?

I copied this from the email receipt they sent. Since I'm pretty ignorant right now about Disco's, I couldn't tell you but I think it covers my 97 SE7.
