My 2012 has developed another bizarre behavior The pass seat adjust controls all work fine..back/forward, up/down...but the upright portion of the seat control will allow it to be tilted forward, but will not allow the seat back to be tilted back! As if you wanted to recline the seat and take a nap.

Ever heard of this? I expect some switch or motor control glitch, but dread tearing the seat/motor/switches apart to debug!!

Located an electrical diagram PDF and see it is pretty simple circuitry. Power comes into seat button module and each button sends power to respective motor. Recline motor has an up and down circuit, spinning motor in opposite directions. So either switch is bad or recline motor not responding to the direction in mine that is not working.

Will pull button module and use a meter to see if back/forth circuits OK. If so, must be motor. Sure hope to hell it is the switch module!!

Only one motor used for the seat back angle.
Guess would be the switch pack.
Maybe swap switch packs and see if that helps.

Got the damn button module out! When did exposed screw heads become such a bad thing Got rear screw out easily but front screw of button seat panel a bi$tch! Finally said f'it and Dremel'd a bit of plastic away to get access.

Have two LR4's in boneyards nearby, but decided to just order $40 eBay replacement. Cost me $40 in gas alone to get to the yard.

But ha ha... No wonder it may have failed! Jaguar part!!

Woop woop! Got my replacement control button unit in mail and that fixed the issue! Motor was fine but recline button broken.

$40 from Goldwing Rover used parts on eBay. Well worth it and check them out!
