Help! Oil on the ground, lots of it.

'96 Disco 1, 5 sp manual. (United States)

My wife called and said there was a big puddle on the ground under the rover. I drove down to check it out, and there was a huge puddle of oil under the vehicle. I started the engine quickly, and then shut it off, and I could see oil dripping from the front, back.. all around the engine.

We left it at her work for the night, and I want to take a closer look tommorow.

Any ideas what I'm looking at? Or, where to look for a problem?

It's never really leaked oil before, just consumed a bit between oil changes.

If you just had the oil changed, I would check to make sure the oil filter is on tight and the oil plug is in tight... other than that... you will have to look.

Sadly, it doesnt seem to be that simple.

I'm hoping it's as simple as maybe the oil pump or..

I'm just hoping we didnt damage the head or head gasket.
