has any one ran through this problem before? My hood is properly closed and secured, but inside the message center, its indicating that the hood is open. any one have any suggestions? I wish they would sell a Chilton or Haynes type of book for these vehicles. it would make life much easyer and diagnosses much simpler. any help will be greatly appreciated. thanks.

The passenger side latch has gotten some debris in it. Clean out with compressed air and it should start working again. The sensor is part of the latch and you should see the connections on the bottom of the latch. Very common and covered if you do a search for it...

Repair manual

Alldatadiy.com has the lr3 repair info. I have used it for oil changes and finding the wire to make my driving lights come on with the brights. You can print the pages as u need them.

"Ryan-in-Oregon" thank you thank you. i just came back from the local DYI car wash. i rinsed out the engine bay then used compressed air to dry evey thing up. after everything was dry, i started the Truck up, and no more warning sign.. than you very much. next time i have to remember to keep the Rover clean after i hit the trails with it.

Your bonnet alarm module may be failing... Mine did... it's common...

Under the passenger side bonnet latch is your alarm sensor. There are two slots you push to snap it out. I bent the switch to close more securely, but it eventually wore out. I just used foil to bridge the connectors and no more "Bonnet Open" messages or alarm going off...

Keep that in mind when it happens again...
