Can the expedition roof rack shipped reasonably? I know it's too big for UPS or FedEx ground.

Better yet, can this be taken apart in 2+ pieces? FexEx ground can do upto 150lbs but not at this size (I estimated 87"x50"x7")

Common carrier, and it wouldn't be very bad at all, if.... Any chance you know any business owner who may have an account with a trucking company? That will help a LOT. Our discount with carriers is typically 75-80% If you can find someone, it won't cost more than $150 cross country.
Also, try freightquote.com. They have a network of truckers that will bid on jobs. I'm actually not sure if they will deliver to a residence, but it's worth a shot. They are very helpful, just call them and tell them what you are trying to do instead of trying to fill out the online form.

not to mention, are you buying it from a retailer? They ought to know how to get it to you...
