Hi everyone. My name is John. I have recently purchased my first ever 4x4!
I have bought a 2004 Freelander td4 HSE 5 door with an automatic box. My first ever diesel and first ever automatic! AND I LOVE IT!
One slight thing that concerns me is the "Fuel burning heater" thingy that it has fitted to it.
It seems to start-up like it says in the car manual (when the ambient temperature is around 5 degrees centigrade), but after a couple of minutes there seems to be a rather loud roaring noise from it. So much so, that it worried me when I first heard it and then turned the engine off. Once the engine is off there seems to be a whizzing noise like the cooling fan running then a few seconds later a good puff of smoke appears from the LH wheel arch!
Is this quite normal for these kind of systems? Do you think my FBH is not well? I would appreciate it if anyone could let me know if this is quite normal.
Thanks John
