Hello All
New chap here. Never really very good at this, but... Many years ago (yonks, even) I owned a 1974 S III 88. I have no idea what the name of the colour was, but it was a sort of medium-ish royal blue with a white-ish top. Fabulous old girl, with the diesel, but in the 1980s, this was a difficult thing to find, so I sold it.
Fast forward 25 years, and I live in a climate so harsh I never dreamed I'd be able to endure it (I'm from Phoenix), and I find that when these 'gentlemen' roar past me in their crew-cab, V-16 super-charged diesel dual rear wheel monstrosities with built-in strip mining equipment; I find a definite nostalgia for Queenie (the GF named her, but it fit).
So, I've washed up on your shores. I guess I'm looking for a IIA or a III, or perhaps I could be coerced into buying one of the MOD Defenders. I would be most interested in a right-hand-drive creature, I don't really know if 88 or 109 matters at this point; I fancy them both for different reasons.
What say you?
J
