I reckon there will be a few overseas owners interested in the outcome of this class action.

i can hardly wait to read the sections where they sue for pain and suffering and all that other BS crap.

just see it - my son Johnny was going to be a brain surgeon until we had all this tire wear: and the NY jury will eat it up!

Couldn't agree more. Crazy what a bunch of litigious cry babies so many have become.

While I agree with you Boulder, it is still disgusting how little blame LR is willing to take on this issue. When I b*tched about my tire wear and alignment they offered nothing but excuses, and I've been buying Land Rovers from them for 15 years. Seems they aren't interested in keeping customers if it's gonna cost them a free alignment - what, maybe a 1/2 hour of labor?

If you've been buying from this dealer for 15 years and they will not comp. you an alignment you've either got a horrible dealer or horrible relations.

I just don't get wound up about something that is a $100 item to fix. It's not as much about right or wrong, it's just a bad investment in negative energy. However, if I feel like I've been stiffed it will be reflected in the next buy preference and the references I provide to others.

Tactically, I just get it aligned to the new specs ($100) and replace the old tires with better ones when they wear out.

BTW, this was a huge issue on early NSX's that came with an alignment spec that made the rears last about 3000 miles.

NHTSA complaints

Has anyone posted a complaint on the NHTSA website? You can search the complaints at:
http://www-odi.nhtsa.dot.gov/cars/problems/complain/complaintsearch.cfm

You can post complaints as well.

So far, there are 4. If more people complain, the NHTSA (the government) will investigate LR. This can and has been known to force OEM hands to resolve an issue. An OEM would rather "make the problem go away" by buying tires (in this case), instead of a forced recall. That is a very bad PR move.

I read this about tires, and have to laugh... I bought my wife an 06 Grand Caravan, within 20k miles I had to replace the tires because they were wearing out on the outsides. Had an alignment done (oh did I mention where I get my tires you get a free alignment with purchase of 4 tires). Any way I traded it off an got her an 07 Town and Country due to some issues (yes I could have lemon lawed it, but I got a great deal because I told them what was wrong and that I could have lemon lawed it. I just didn't want to deal with it).

Well my 07 has 19k miles and guess what same tire wear and had to replace the tires. If I buy another I think I will spend the money up front and get it aligned. Not that it will matter that much since the OEM tires sucked anyways and I prefer the new ones I bought. Didn't spin a tire going up my driveway in the snow.

I Know, not LR related, but still a tire issue.
