LR4 HSE - Keyless Entry

Hi,

We just picked up our 2011 HSE. Our Sticker spec sheet says that "Keyless Entry Parametric Sensing Security System" is included on our car. BUT, we don't have the locking button on the door handle, and the door doesn't automatically unlock when we are close by or when we try to open the door (with key in pocket).

When we asked about it before signing the lease, the dealer said that we just needed to be 3 feet from the car.

Can anyone shed some light on this?

Congrats on your new truck! You are having that problem because for 2011 only the LUX comes with passive entry which allows you to just keep the key fob in your pocket. Keyless entry just means that you don't have to use an actual key, you can just press the unlock button on your fob. Keyless entry and Parametric Sensing Security System are two separate features. The second is the trucks alarm system and has nothing to do with entry. Sorry to have to break that to you. Your dealer has some explaining to do.

You have keyless entry, not PASSIVE keyless entry. Passive keyless for the 2011 models is only offered on the LUX. In other words, unless you got a LUX you will have to use the fob to unlock the car.

Sorry you thought you had PASSIVE keyless entry. As the other guys stated, that's only offered on the Lux version for 2011. Your dealer should have known that fact. Nothing you can do since you already signed the lease, but maybe they will apologize via a free accessory - HAHA!
