make your own diesel?

has anyone of you heard of making your own diesel fuel? i saw it on an episode of 'trucks' on spike. he claims its cheaper, higher grade, and is superior to the pump. if so..man i wish i had a diesel.

I'm about to embark on making some very soon. In fact, I'm organising collection (free) of waste vegetable oil from one of the hotels here in Sydney this week. Then I have to find the time to fabricate the equipment (not difficult). I've posted a link which will inform you of all you want to know.
