Mine has a button on both the black rings at the base of the headrest poles, I pressed them both and it came right out.

Mine has a button on one base and a tiny button on the other pole that I need an assistant to press (or I use a pen).

the "button" is flush with the base; you can see it under good lighting; you'll probably need a flat head to push it in on both sides

BTW, if you are removing the headrest to improve visibility there is an alternative which is to drop the middle seat down and then open back up. This sets the seat base to it's lowest position and provides a clear view out the rear. I don't often have 3 people across the back seats so this works well for me plus you get a great optional place to hold maps/laptop bag etc.

Thanks for the tips. I've been trying to remove that headrest since I got mine in '07. I put my son's carseat in the middle and the head rest just gets in the way for his seat to recline. Gonna try to remove the middle head rest tonight.

I finally found the small button; it is there you just have to look very close at the base
