Hi all,

Can anyone advise on which shocks & springs I should be looking at to replace the stock system? I have 50K miles on my 2000 Discovery and compared to other models, the space between the top of the tire and the bottom of the wheel arch is a lot less...Can I go with Monroe shock and a heavy duty spring from a good manufacturer? I do some off-roading from time to time here in Nevada, but I mostly drive on the highway to and from work...Any help would be greatly appreciated...Oh, total costs to purchase and install would be nice also...

Once again opinions will vary. Here's what I did when it was time to change my original sagging springs. I installed a set of heavy duty springs (no lift) all round. For shocks I run Bilsteins, standard Bilsteins on one of my discos and a 30% pressure increase (over standard) on the other. I do a lot of off roading and have found these combinations quite adequate. I hope this helps.

The springs are custom made by a very small spring manufacturer here in Sydney Australia, called Universal Springs. Sorry I can't be of more help.

I recommend Rovertym springs. I'm running them on my D2 and am really pleased with the ride, the articulation and the lift height.
